Job Description:
We are looking for a Java Lead to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend applications and microservices. You will lead a team of engineers, own technical architecture decisions, and collaborate with frontend teams, QA engineers, and product managers to deliver robust, high-performance software solutions for our clients.
The ideal candidate has deep experience with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and SQL, along with proven expertise in system design, REST API architecture, microservices, and leading engineering teams in an Agile environment.
In this role, you will define technical direction, review architecture and code, mentor developers, and ensure best practices across the full software development lifecycle — from estimation and planning through deployment and support.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Java-based backend applications and microservices.
- Own system architecture, technical design decisions, and code quality for the team.
- Mentor, guide, and review the work of Java developers; conduct code reviews and technical feedback sessions.
- Design and optimize SQL database schemas, queries, and stored procedures.
- Drive adoption of best practices in RESTful API design, security, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders on estimation, planning, and delivery.
- Champion CI/CD, automated testing, version control (Git), and Agile development practices.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and ensure application stability and performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in Java application development, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior role.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and SQL.
- Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Solid understanding of system design, design patterns, and object-oriented principles.
- Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development.
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and team leadership skills.
